Can anyone help me with a reference about children learning better through school trips?

trips55 Can anyone help me with a reference about children learning better through school trips?
I am writing an essay about the value of trips out of school and want to say that children learn better by seeing and experiencing things first-hand, but am having real trouble finding a reference to back up this statement!
Can anyone think of somebody I could use?
Is Piaget relevant?

Thanks!

It may not seem like it’s directly related, but you might want to pick up some books on the Montessori method. Montessori is 100% about hands-on learning, so there’ll probably be some statements in there to help support your thesis. Good luck!

You need to talk about the three learning styles: audio (learning by hearing), visual (learning by seeing) and kinesthetic (learning by doing); all known as VAK. We all learn by using a combination of these 3 styles, but most of us are mainly auditory or visual. The kinesthetic learner needs to ‘do’ something to help them learn. Many lower attainers are kinesthetic learners. They attain lower because their needs aren’t met by teacher: they are not given’doing’ things to help them learn. Educational visits help meet the needs of kinesthetic learners. It’s all really interesting stuff that I as a teacher think really isimportant in reaching the kids in my care!
