I will visit Mexico and Colorado soon. I was thinking…Should I buy a traveling journal to write down my thoughts for these trips? Or should I just write my thoughts for these trips in my personal journal that I write in everyday?

You might as well just use your regular journal. No sense in buying another when you’re current one is perfectly fine.
Unless…
You plan on writing A LOT–don’t want to waste all that room
You want one that has fill-ins, designed for traveling
You don’t like you’re current one.
You need to share it and you’re current one is private
If none of these are yes, stick with the top, if not, go ahead and get a different journal.
buy a travelers journal! i too, recorded my trips in a seprate one. save this one to write about all of your trips. that way, it will be not only easier to look back on them, but you’ll be glad you did it if you ever decide to show it to other people! (dont want them reading personal stuff, lol)
Any one of these will be ok.
I also buy a post-card of the local scenery and write down everything i saw, did ,the date, the time i did these things, what the weather was like that day, temperatures, the people i met, what i ate, drank, how much it cost. etc
when you get home you have all these ‘diary’ type postcards, of the villages and towns that you visited
They are great to look at in later years
Whatever suits you best.
