The Oceana (built in 2000) does not have the pod propulsion system which is fitted to many of the most modern cruise ships. Pod propulsion is virtually vibration free, whereas a conventional prop shaft always seems to transmit vibration to some degree.
I have heard mixed reports on the attitude of some P&O staff, hence my enquiry about the standard of service.

my entire family have been on it and they’ve had no problems. the ride was fine (apart from one day when it was a bit rough) and the staff were pleasant and helpful. i think it depends it you think about the vibration you will feel it.
I could feel the vibration of the ships screw turning in some locations on board but it is not annoying. I noticed it a bit in the dining room. Aft is naturally closer and usually slightly nosier then forward.
As an ex navy man I may notice vibration more then the average person.
Service was excellent and the staff were very polite.
