I have been driving for 4 years now, and I still can’t parallel park and reverse a car from a parking lot. I always have to put the car and 800 miles from my destination and then walk to the store. lol. So if you guys have any ideas and tips that would be great?
get a small car make sure you are seated correctly and can see all corners of the car clearly, use your mirrors as well as turning your head and looking, take it slow and go somewhere quiet get some bins or traffic cones and practise.
try backing in to paralell park. It will take several tries to get it in back and forth back and forward. When you get it in leave as much room as you can between the car in front of you and the car behind you. This may make it easier to get out.
Practice find a parking lot bring some road cones and simulate different conditions maybe flags to simulate other cars. while practicing try to get a feel for where the edges of your car are. practice is the only way i think you will improve. unless its some sort of physiological problem. then i can not help. we have to parallel park here to get a license and that is a tripping point for a lot of people.
What kind of car do you drive?
if its small you just need to look into your rear view mirror and slowly back up.
If its a big car u might want to stick you head out of the window and look back keeping your hands on the wheel and bacl up slowly.
and try practicing in an empty parking lot
