The only good deal on a timeshare is the one when you purchase it from someone second hand. The return on investment for timeshares are pitiful, you should never buy new.
If you buy a timeshare, buy one privately from someone looking to get out. Go on a few timeshare tour things so you know what a good purchase is — red time, weeks vs. points, desireable trade, etc., and then look in the classifieds or online. I guarantee you’ll pay only a tiny fraction of what you would pay through the company.
The idiots above me say it is a ripoff and a scam. NO. Most are not. The ones who get scammed are those who buy from a unreputable companies like Joe’s swamp resort…lol. When buying a timeshare it is important to consider what you are getting and for what price. Are you buying a timeshare with one property (horrible idea) or buying one with multiple options (very good idea). Buying new you will pay a higher price and receive many extras. If you buy used you may save a great deal of money but buyer beware that some resorts have strict selling policies which may not afford the owner to sell until they are paid up. You must hire an attorney for that.
I have my timeshare through Hilton and I use it (another problem most people have). they never use it. I am thrilled with mine. I was not pressured to buy it. I negotiated for everything I wanted, price location, season,bonus points, etc. Pick the one that’s right for you.

The price is the same year round. The usage of the high season of the area is usually more expensive.
